What is Fermentation? 

Fermentation is a process that’s been around for thousands of years. The process of fermentation allows the bacteria and yeast to feed on the sugar and starch, enhancing the nutritional value of the ingredients, generating smaller molecules and byproducts such as amino acids, nutrients, minerals and lactic acid. Though fermentation has a long history in the food industry, it’s recently begun to gain more traction in the beauty industry because of its proven skincare benefits and promising results based on numerous studies. 

Why is Fermentation Good for the Skin? 

The fermentation process is extra beneficial for skin because it breaks down formulas and compounds into smaller particles.
