Fermentation. What is it? Such a scientific word, right? When I hear it, all I can think about is the enzymes that turn grapes into wine, wheat into beer or milk into yogurt. Working with numerous global labs during product conception, we discovered that fermentation is actually a superpower key component that ensures your skincare ingredients are efficiently and instantly absorbed into your complexion. You must be curious as to why we chose Japanese Barley and what’s the magic? In late 2019, when Kyle, JUNO’s Founder traveled to Japan to meet with Japanese manufacturers, he discovered Japanese Barley. A staple ingredient in Japanese cuisine because of its numerous beneficial health properties. Japanese Barley didn’t just come out of nowhere. In fact, it’s been used for thousands of years in Japanese skincare, makeup and hair products. The more our founder unveiled its magical properties with skin and health, the more determined he was to incorporate Japanese Barley into JUNOSKIN products. 


What is the magic of Japanese Barley? 

  1. Improves Skin Tone:

    Japanese Barley cleanses and exfoliates the skin gently yet thoroughly by eliminating dead cells, dirt, grime, and excess oil from it. It facilitates skin tightening, making your skin more supple and well-toned and giving it a younger appearance.

    Barley consists of a large amount of selenium. Selenium is an antioxidant that keeps skin healthy and youthful from the inside and protects it against free radical damage on the outside.

Breaking it down, it delivered potent doses of four game changing dermatological molecular breakthroughs: Coixenolide - which evens skin tone by brightening and reducing the dark spots, Coixol - which enhances the skin barrier by reducing any type of irritation towards the skin, Vitamin B1, B12, and E - all MAJOR wrinkle preventers and overall skin smoothers and lastly, Proteolytic enzymes - which dissolves skin’s keratin layer to help soften and moisten the skin for optimal product absorption.
