The correct way to apply your skincare

An easy way to decipher and decide how to apply products would be through consistency. The thinnest to thickest or from liquid to cream.

Applying your skincare products in the right order is key to getting the full benefits of every formula in your routine arsenal. Not having the right knowledge for layering skincare can actually be a total waste of both time and money if recklessly applied.

It’s important to remember that the thinner the product is the more likely it’ll be absorbed into skin, while thicker products tend to help keep environmental stressors out.

Be sure to look up whether your ingredients conflict with the other. Many alcohol or acid-based products will most likely act as a counteractive ingredient and could remove any benefits from active ingredients in a product applied before it.  It would be smart to use the product with the acid or alcohol first, let dry for a few minutes, and follow with the product containing the active ingredients you would like to be introduced and absorbed into your skin.

TLDR?  An easy way to decipher and decide how to apply products would be through consistency. The thinnest to thickest or from liquid to cream.

  1. Cleanser: Starting off with an extra clean complexion will help all following products in the routine better absorb and ensure maximum formula benefits. JUNOClean 10 will get you there stat.

  2. Toner: Toners are meant to evaporate and absorb themselves into skin, to help bright, decongest and declog. Let it dry before the next step!

  3. Serum: Whether it’s Vitamin C or a combination of good-for-you oils, this is the best time to apply. Damp skin will help boost absorption.

  4. Eye Cream: Treatment directly to the delicate eye area is the ultimate self-care.

  5. Spot Treatment: Protect problem areas before layering on a moisturizer because moisturizers will most likely be too thick to penetrate through.

  6. Moisturizer: Add back in that moisture for dry skin or, if you’re oily, you can use gel or a water-based moisturizer to too much shine.

  7. Sunblock: Sunblock is life. IYKYK.

  8. Primer or Finishing Powder: Set all the ingredients in with a finishing powder like JUNO Blur - which moisturizes, mattifies, and blurs for a no makeup makeup effect. Or kickstart your makeup routine with an amazing primer that protects and creates the perfect canvas like JUNO Moonshine.
